(Benji’s perspective)
Benji comes from an Earth in a different universe.
Where he’s from, people don’t die. When a body gives out, consciousness doesn’t go with it, it holds on. It stays. That’s why Benji was rebuilt: nanotech and AI threaded through him, not to make him a weapon, but to make him strong enough to cross realities without losing his mind in the process.
Then the sky cracks open. Benji falls into another world, and nothing goes the way it was supposed to.
Mateo finds him broken on the pavement, impossible to explain, impossible to walk away from, and decides to help him disappear anyway.
Everyone else wants Benji for what’s inside him: the tech, the proof, the fast track to living forever.
On the run, Benji starts to remember what his world gave up somewhere along the way: tenderness, real choice, the terrifying act of loving someone you could actually lose. Mateo becomes more than just a hiding place. He becomes a reason to stay.
Benji has to choose what’s worth protecting: the dream of never ending, or a life that actually means something.
A love story about being found and learning how to stay.
